Winnie Wan-Ni Tse (b.1990)
Based in London, Wan-ni Tse is an artist whose work is shaped by her background in both music performance and electronic arts, with training from Hong Kong Baptist University and Goldsmiths College, University of London. Her early experience with music developed a strong sensitivity to rhythm, emotion, and atmosphere—qualities that apply in her visual practice.
Combining still images with elements of performance and object-based work, she explores the quiet emotional presence of everyday materials. By focusing on structure, function, and form, she reflects on how material and modern life connect, creating calm, thoughtful spaces through her images. Her use of colour is intuitive, and her visual language is subtle yet distinct.
Four Hands Impromptu for Adapted Zheng, her recent work performed in Zhangyuan, Shanghai, marks a new step in her practice. This live improvisation explored sound, body movement, and the meeting point between tradition and the present.
Her work has been shown in galleries and cultural spaces in London, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, and continues to grow at the intersection of cross media.
